The camaraderie between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma caught the attention of the fans when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) icon caught the former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain by surprise. The incident happened during the MI vs RCB IPL 2024 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. In a viral video, Rohit was standing at the non-striker's end when Kohli, who was going to the other side of the pitch, gently patted on the Indian team captain's belly.

Reacting to the same, Rohit turned back to see who it was and after seeing Kohli he made a thumbs up gesture.

Coming back to the match, MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah wrecked RCB with match-winning figures of 5/21.

After MI captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl, RCB were reducted to 23/2 with Kohli and debutant Will Jacks were dismissed by Bumrah and Aakash Madhwal, respectively.

However, Faf du Plessis (61) rebuilt the innings with the explosive Rajat Patidar, who hit an impressive 26-ball 50 with four sixes and three fours.

After them, a late 23-ball 53 blitz from Dinesh Karthik allowed RCB to post 196/8 in 20 overs.

In reply, MI hit the ground running from start with openers Rohit and Ishan Kishan added 101 runs for the first wicket inside the first 10 overs.

Kishan took the game away from RCB, smashing five sixes in his 34-ball 69. Rohit, on the other hand, scored a steady 24-ball 38.

Despite Kishan and Rohit's departure, RCB never really threatened to pull off a comeback, especially with Suryakumar Yadav and MI keeping them afloat.

Suryakumar completed his fifty in 19 balls before perishing to Vijaykumar Vyshak for 53.

Hardik hit the winning run to remain unbeaten on 21 with MI wrapping up proceedings in the 16th over.

MI are seventh in the table while RCB are now ninth, just above Delhi Capitals, in the 10-team cash-rich tournament.
